- Close fitting (like biking shorts) to not catch on vegetation and quick rigging for climbing

Bottom Line: Select shorts to match terrain (water crossings in either ARs or Ultras?), race distance, and weather conditions. I have had excellent results wearing the Patagonia shorts in three LT100 Running Races and five LT100 Marathons with no chaffing or any binding.
